Continuing with our topic Why Vampires Are Sexy: Here’s the promised excerpt of my novel MIDNIGHT CONQUEST where Broderick resigns himself to feeding from the heroine Davina:
Closing his eyes, [Broderick] sent waves of influence, charming [Davina’s] senses. He caressed his lips against her cheek and drew her into his breath. The scent of this woman—a mixture of her blood, her womanly essence and the rose oil she wore—made him drunk with desire. He kissed his mouth over her skin to touch the tip of his tongue against the sweet shell of her ear. The pulsing of her heart, strong and rapid, matched the panting of her breath and pounded against his senses. She moaned and pressed her palms to his chest. The notion of tasting the nectar running through her veins ignited the Hunger and the familiar pain shot across his gums as his fangs extended and his mouth watered.
Uh oh! Did Broderick bite Davina? I guess you’ll have to read the book to find out! But the excitement builds when that forbidden territory is crossed into…the dark and dangerous side of vampires, covered in our next post. Before you go over there, let’s check in and give a purpose to your post. Continuing to excite the six senses as it pertains to vampires…we’ll explore the sense of smell in this post.
What do YOU find hot about SCENTS associated with vampires? Broderick is able to admire Davina’s rose oil fragrance mixed with her own essence, and awakening a primal hunger in him. I think the simple idea that they can not just smell your blood, but your–arousal. Is the thing that sort of seals the deal. You can’t hide anything, there is so much vulnerability in your scent to them.

I think that the vamps ability to smell so many different scents, especially the sweet “nectar” of the blood definitely makes things more intimate and erotic. Our sense of smell is so significant in our we interpret our world.In fact, in a lot of ways, it our most important sense because it can transport us to a different time and space to where we original smelled the scent. Pretty cool, huh?

I think when it comes to vampires finding their mate scent is very important. They are drawn to it whether they want to be or not. The scent of blood has a person’s life force to it and the mix of sweat and natural fragrance all mix to make a chemistry that appeals to calls to a vampire. It’s very interesting.
Yes!! That is one of my favorite facts of the human body and psyche! You smell a certain scent, and suddenly you flashback to another time in your life. Amazing!!!!
It is their heightened sense of smell! Scents are erotic to begin with and their abilities are exciting!
